Kenya Police head coach Zdravko Logarusic has said his squad boasts sufficient depth to clinch a maiden Kenyan Premier League title this season.

The law enforcers are ninth on the top-flight log with 17 points, eight adrift of leaders Posta Rangers.

But despite the huge gap, Logarusic, reckons they possess the mojo to catch up and storm the title that has eluded them since they joined the top-flight league in 2019.

“There is no iota of doubt that the Kenyan Premier League is among the toughest I have ever participated in," Logarusic remarked.

"But that doesn't bother me much because I have a lot of confidence in the quality I have in my squad. We have pulled off some impressive results because the players have speedily adopted my coaching philosophy."

Logarusic said he is ready to leverage the entire squad by allowing each player to showcase their mettle.

"What gives me the confidence is the amazing depth we enjoy in our squad and we can comfortably use this to win the title when our opponents fizzle out as the league progresses," Logarusic remarked.

"We are among the clubs that boasts sufficient depth and this certainly hands us the edge over our opponents given this is a very rigorous competition," he added.

The tough-talking gaffer warned his charges not to be complacent, adding that he does not have sacred cows in his talent-laden team.

"It's very important for them to realise that nobody will get any special treatment from us. We expect every member of the squad to battle tooth and nail for slots in the starting lineup. I believe in awarding positions on merit,” he said.

Logarusic said he would continue embracing the rotation system he introduced at the start of the season just to protect his players from fizzling out early in the season.

Police have an uphill battle against the high-flying Murang'a Seal in their next league encounter at St. Sebastian Park on December 5.

The tactician said he is unfazed by the level of competitiveness displayed thus far by the newbies, who have managed to tame some of the revered big guns.

“I think they have already shown us their best side and there is completely nothing more they have left. We would be happy to see them excel in the league, but their performance cannot cause us sleepless nights at any given time,” he said.

They head to the fixture high on confidence after thumping Nzoia Sugar 3-1 at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma over the weekend.
