Former Harambee Starlets assistant coach Benta Achieng has joined Madira Soccer Assassins on a two-year deal.

Achieng, who previously led Thika Queens (now Kenya Police Bullets) to KWPL glory in the 2016/17 and 20/21 seasons, will collaborate with head coach Francis Muhambe.

The ex-midfielder has experienced intermittent periods at Thika. Initially, she served as an assistant coach under Richard Kanyi before eventually taking on the position of head coach.

Muhambe lauded Achieng, emphasizing that her understanding of the league would significantly benefit the team.

''She is a coach who has been in this league for many years. She understands it very well having a player and now a coach. The team being new to the league means we needed to bring in someone with a wealth of experience and Achieng was the right fit,'' said Muhambe.

''Together we will share ideas that will help us elevate the team to higher levels,'' he added.

The coaching duo aims to guide Madira, who were recently promoted to the top tier after winning the FKF Women Division One.

Achieng is set to make her touchline debut when Assassins face Zetech Sparks at Mumboha grounds this Saturday.
