FC Talanta beat current league leaders Posta Rangers 3-1 courtesy of a brace from Alfred Tanui, handing the Mailmen their first loss of the season on Saturday at the Ruaraka grounds.

Alfred Tanui capitalised on an error by Posta Rangers goalkeeper, giving Talanta an early lead just two minutes into the game. Soon after, Sunga Alex contributed the second goal for his side.

Three minutes before halftime, the Mailmen managed to pull one back when Dinken Mwema headed in a free-kick delivered by Titus Achesa.

However, in the 78th minute, Alfred Tanui secured a brace and extended Talanta’s lead, ultimately leading to a final score of 3-1.

Posta Ranger,  however, still sit top of the league with 16 points followed by Gor Mahia who have 12 points. This means even if Gor win today, they will still be a point behind the Mailmen.

The goals arrived in the closing minutes, with Mark Bikokwa putting Ulinzi Stars in the lead in the 86th minute before Danson Namasaka equalised for KCB in the 91st minute leaving both teams to share the spoils.
