Ulinzi Starlets' head coach, Joseph Mwanza is mulling a strategy as they prepare to face reigning champions Vihiga Queens in the Kenyan Women's Premier League match this weekend.

The much-anticipated game is scheduled to take place at the Moi Stadium, Kisumu, this Sunday.

Mwanza's charges demonstrated their prowess with a remarkable 2-0 victory over Vihiga Queens in the FKF Women's Super Cup at Utalii ground last weekend.

The tactician remains cautious, acknowledging the challenge posed by Vihiga Queens. "We can't ignore Vihiga because they were last season's champions. Just because we beat them in the Super Cup doesn't mean an easy game for us. Of course, they will not allow themselves to be beaten by the same team twice," said Mwanza.

''We will approach the game tactically to ensure we secure the three points,'' he added.

''Wagira and Ojwang played last weekend against Vihiga and they fortified our attack. I am confident they will also make a difference this coming weekend," Mwanza said.

Looking ahead, Mwanza expressed the team's ambition for the season.

He added: "This season we hope to finish at the top. Last season we had a poor run in the first leg and it cost us. We learn through those mistakes and hope for a better outcome this time round," he concluded.
