Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba reckons her charges have sharpened their talons well enough to turn the tables on the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon.

The two nations will face off in the return leg of the 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers this evening.

Cameroon heads into the match with an advantage they picked up in Douala when they edged Kenya 1-0 in the first leg on Friday.

The visitors arrived in the country early Monday and later in the afternoon held a light training session at the Nyayo Stadium, where the match will be held.

Speaking after a training session at the same facility earlier in the morning, Odemba said she had already plugged in the holes that cost them their first match in Douala.

"We learned from our mistakes. We now understand them better and we shall be going for nothing short of a win at home," Odemba said.

"We've done adequate preparations and I'm confident we are going to perform well this time around," Odemba added.

The gaffer said long trips to the training venue in Douala took a huge toll on their performance in the first encounter.

"We were forced to travel for up to two hours to the training ground and that meant we could only train once a day. It also meant our preparations were limited to just a few hours before the match," Odemba remarked.

While urging local fans to turn out in large numbers and roar the team on, skipper Ruth Ingotsi said they would do all in their power to deliver victory.

"Come out and support us. We need you to win this match. We can't afford to lose at home. We know where we fell short in the first leg and we are ready to make amends on Tuesday," Ingotsi said.

Seasoned forward Mwanahalima Adam said she was confident they would claim the scalp of their West African opponents.

"I said earlier that Cameroon must fall. That's still my position and we are not ceding any ground. We are going to win in Nairobi," Mwanahalima said.

Should Starlets emerge as the aggregate winners of the two-legged qualifier, they will be pitted against either Gabon or Botswana in the second round, scheduled between November 27 and December 5.

The victor of the second round will secure automatic qualification for the 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, hosted in Morocco.
