Harambee Starlets' head coach Beldine Odimba has called on all Kenyans to turn up in large numbers to show support during the squad’s second-leg match of their 2024 Africa Women's Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Cameroon on Tuesday at the Nyayo National Stadium at 3 pm.

The squad jetted back into the country on Sunday night and will need to overturn a 1-0 loss to the Indomitable Lionesses.

Odimba urged all fans to seek permission to leave early from work so that they can come and support the Starlets since the game is on a weekday.

“I would like our Kenyan fans to turn up in large numbers. Kenyans believe in us and when they fill the stadium, they will have played a very important role,” Odimba said.

“We hope they ask for permission from work to leave early because it’s a weekday game. If they are able to come it will be very important for us.”

Starlets lost to Cameroon 1-0 in the first leg played at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Cameroon on September 22.

Spain-based defender Eliane Mambalano scored the all-important goal in the ninth minute of the first half with a powerful header after connecting from a set piece by Aboudi Ongueene that gave the Indomitable Lionesses the much-needed advantage going into the second leg.
