Kenya Police FC assistant coach, Salim Babu, has said that he expects a win in their league match against Shabana FC on Saturday where the team will be away at the Raila Odinga stadium in Homa Bay.

This will be the third game week of the FKF 2023/24 season. The league has been on a two-week break owing to the international break.

“My expectations are high because we have had two weeks to train. From the previous game, we played we have learnt our mistakes,” the assistant coach said.

“We are thankful for the break so we can prepare well. Our expectations are high since the boys have been training well and they have high morale so we are going to win against Shabana.”

Their first league match saw them come up against Kariobangi Sharks where the game ended in a goalless draw.

The second match saw them come up against Posta Rangers at home in the Police Sacco stadium where they lost 3-0 courtesy of goals from Curtis Wekesa, Jackson Dwang and Brian Otieno.

The law enforcers' central defender, Rashid Toha, expressed his disappointment for the previous matches where they managed just one point from the two game weeks but said that the preparation they had done during the international break was sufficient for the team to bag a win away.

“Of course, we are disappointed as a team because I believe the results were not coming our way but it doesn’t mean we are not working hard.”

“We are from an international break, we have come back, and we have prepared well. So I feel like we are good and we are going to that match with one objective and that is to get back to winning ways because I believe that is what we are as Police FC to win every match,” the defender said.

Shabana FC on the other hand fell to current league leaders Murang’a Seal in the first match and drew 1-1 against Talanta FC.

Shabana currently sit at 13th while Kenya police sit at position 16 in the league table.

Kenya police who had an impressive 2022/23 season finishing at number three, just six points behind league winners Gor Mahia, will be looking to get back to winning ways against newly promoted Shabana.
