Shabana eager for Gusii Stadium to be upgraded

Shabana FC stakeholders are keen on the Gusii Stadium to be upgraded to meet the national standard ahead of Football Kenya Federation Premier 2023/24 season next month.

Stakeholders have expressed their concern about their home ground, with just over a month before the 'glamour boys' open their campaign  against Kariobangi Sharks.

Shabana will play in the top tier for the first time in 17 years after winning the Super League title that guaranteed them promotion.

"Governor Simba Arati gave us assurance that the works starts on Monday. The field at the moment doesn't meet the FKF standard," club President Gerad Nevaton told Citizen TV.

 Shabana was founded in 1982 by an Indian called Dogo Khan, who was a businessman in the region. The 65-year old named the team after his shop.

Shabana have called for sobriety ahead of their KPL return. Their fans have received plaudits from stakeholders for their unwavering support and standing by the team even amidst the financial challenges.
