Kakamega Homeboyz's striker Moses Shumah scored on his Harambee Stars debut in Kenya's 1-0 win over Pakistan on Wednesday in a fou-nation tournament in Mauritius.

Shumah pounced on a lose ball inside the penalty area to fire home in the 18th minute as Engin Firat's charges started the week-long competition with victory.

Shumah, who boasts four goals and one assist for Homeboyz in the Kenya Premier League, broke the deadlock after rounding Pakistan shot-stopper Yousaf Butt before firing home.

Stars dominated the first half with defender David 'Cheche' Ochieng coming close to finding the opener from a corner but his effort sailed over the bar.

Pakistan's Bashir Hassan missed a clear chance to level things after he misfired a fine cross from Sufyan Mohammed.

Pakistan were superior at the start of the second half and dominated the Stars but failed to find an equaliser.

Kenya, who missed their opening game against Djibouti on Sunday, will face hosts Mauritius.

Pakistan have now lost twice, having gone down 3-0 to Mauritius on Sunday. They will next face Djibouti.
