Nairobi City Stars head coach Nicholas Muyoti reckons his charges have finally found the Midas touch needed to wrap up the Kenyan Premier League season on a high note.

The former Kenya international has vowed to fire his charges to victory in a crunch penultimate fixture of the season against Talanta at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday.

"We are certainly prepared for this match. Judging by our recent form I expect some positive results," Muyoti said.

The city lads have brushed aside a torrid start to the season to stamp authority in the competition.

Before their 3-2 defeat at the hands of third-placed Nzoia Sugar at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma county on Saturday, City Stars had pulled off a seven-match unbeaten streak.

Muyoti has credited their superb run in the second phase of the competition to quality signings he acquired during the last mid-season transfer window.

"Their extreme hard work is bearing fine fruits as you can see from the outcome of our recent matches. Going unbeaten in seven matches is not a mean feat," the gaffer said.

"I'm delighted with the performance of the new players who joined us in the second leg. They are doing a commendable job and their contribution reflects in the results we have posted in our latest encounters," Muyoti said.

"They have gelled well with the rest of the squad and it's regrettable that we only managed to secure their services too late in the season," he added.  City Stars are 15th on the log with 33 points.

Meanwhile, Bandari head coach Twahir Muhiddin will look to steer his charges to a crucial win over Kariobangi Sharks at Mbaraki Stadium on Thursday.

The Dockers have been on a rampage since the former Harambee Stars tactician took over the reins from Anthony Kimani in May, going unbeaten in their last six matches. The coastal lads have won four times and drawn twice under his watch.

Their last league outing was a resounding 2-0 win over Sofapaka FC at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday.

Muhiddin disclosed the key to his success in an interview on Tuesday,  saying he had toiled day and night to transform the battered attitude of the players.

“When I took over,  it was evident that the players were daunted, extremely tired from congested fixtures, and clueless on how to reclaim their winning touch and that's all I worked on.”

Bandari currently place sixth on the log with 54 points and Muhuddin reckons they stand a chance to crack a top-five finish.

"We hope to win our remaining two matches and finish in the top five then we can see how to strategize for the title next season."
