Gusii FC host SS Assad in NSL midweek clash

Gusii FC will host SS Assad at Gusii Stadium on Wednesday as they seek their third win on the trot in the FKF National Super League.

Gusii go into the game after wins over Kajiado and Silibwet FC while SS Assad upset log leaders Shabana 3-1 last weekend. Gusii sit third on the log with 31 points from 19 matches while SS Assad are 14th with 12 points.  

At Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, Mully Children’s Family welcome Kisumu All-Stars from 3 pm as   Coastal Heroes entertain Mwatate United Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa. 

Migori Youth and Silibwet face off at Migori Stadium as Darajani Gogo battle it out with Kajiado FC at Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi.

Promotion-chasing Kibera Black Stars face Vihiga United at Ligi Ndogo grounds in the day’s last game.

After two games without a win, Shabana will look to bounce back when they host Mombasa Elite on Thursday at Gusii Stadium.

Murang’a Seal reduced Shabana’s lead on top of the log to five points and have a game hand. Murang’a Seal will be in action on Saturday when they travel to Kisumu for a game against All Stars.

Shabana coach Sammy Okoth said: “I don’t want to give excuses on why we lost in Kwale. We are currently training and trying to rectify what went wrong in the last two games.”

Speaking on Tuesday afternoon from the team’s training ground at Kiendege primary school, Okoth said his players are not under pressure at the moment.

“We didn’t play well in the last two games and we are not happy about it. We have to bounce back against Mombasa Elites,” added the tactician.
