Strathmore University Blades take on former champions Ulinzi Warriors in a Kenya National Basketball League game at the University of Nairobi courts on Saturday.

The students' coach Toy Ochieng said they are on a good run having lost only lost one of their last six games and want to continue in the same vein of form in the last fixture before teams break for the holidays.

Blades' match card will also include a clash against a sharp-shooting Thunder on Sunday.

Ochieng said he has trained well and his boys are ready for the top duels against two sides that are currently perched at the top of the league table.

“We have had a good run and want to keep that going. This is the last fixture of the year before teams take a break and we are targeting a top finish before resuming next year,” Offered Ochieng.

However, the tactician will have to do that without five of his key players. His playmaker Samuel Mogoko has lost his dad while four others have suffered injuries and are unavailable.

“Besides Mogoko, I will also miss George Okoth, Samuel Mutambuki, Darryl Omondi and Jordi Yanda. But we will put our best foot forward.”

The other matches will see the host University of Nairobi Dynamites welcome home former champions Equity Bank Hawks while the UoN Terrorists side play Equity Bank Dumas.

The Sunday matches at the same venue will see Equity Bank return to face off Storms before Blades close the show with a match against the sharp-shooting Thunder.
