APS Bomet's hunt for a maiden title has been dealt a huge blow after they suffered a shock 2-0 loss to relegation-bound Migori Youth in an action-packed National Super League encounter at Migori Stadium on Monday.

Splendid efforts from former Wazito forward Clinton Okoth and Tyson Omondi fired the hosts to the crucial win that handed them a temporary reprieve from the jaws of relegation.

APS headed into the match eager to ease off the ballooning pressure from fellow title hopefuls Fortune Sacco, only for their opponents to nip their plans in the bud.

The match had initially been slated for Sunday but was postponed to Monday after both sides sought some breathing space from congested fixtures.

It was a second straight defeat for APS, who suffered a similar fate at the hands of neighbours Silibwet Leon in their preceding encounter.

The loss saw them slump to the second spot on the log behind Fortune who abeit level on points with them, enjoy a healthier goal difference.
