Vihiga's Engesha inks deal with Korean topflight side

Vihiga Queens forward Tereza Engesha is expected to complete her move to South Korean side Incheon Hyundai in the coming days upon the processing of her travel documents, the club have confirmed.

Engesha has been subject of interest from a host of clubs and the move comes as a relief to the maverick striker, who was dropped by Queens management in their latest matches in to accord her time to sort out the matter.

"The Club's Executive Committee is pleased to announce that Vihiga Queens Football Club have come to an agreement with South Korean side Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women's Football for the transfer of Vihiga Queens' super striker Tereza Engesha Obunyu alias 'Terry'," read the statement.

"We take this opportunity to wish Engesha the very best as she joins our former players : Cynthia (Spain), Lilian Awuor (France) and Jentrix Shikangwa (Turkey) in pursuing greener pastures abroad."

Founded in 1993, Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels Women's FC plays in the WK League (the highest women's football league run by the Korea Football Association and the Korea Women's Football Federation) in South Korea.

The club has won the league nine times in a row, from 2013 to 2021.

Engesha was the 2019 Kenya Women's Premier League top scorer with 36 goals, which saw her named the Kenya Footballers Welfare Association KEFWA player of the year.
