Tusker head coach Robert Matano is convinced his charges have finally rediscovered their lost magic wand after they registered a crucial win over Kenya Police to rekindle their hopes of a possible title defence.
The brewers rallied from behind to turn tables on the stubborn law enforcers whom they pipped 2-1 in a hotly contested Kenyan Premier League encounter at Moi Stadium, Kasarani on Wednesday.
"We are witnessing more organisation in the midfield, more stability in the defence and more sharpness in the striking force. If we continue playing the way we did today, then why not, there is every possibility we might hoist the trophy again at the end of the season," said Matano.
As the brewers' gaffer beamed off a broad smile, his opposite number John Bobby Ogolla expressed utter disappointment with his side for squandering an early lead to eventually succumb in the match.
"It's very urgent that we should learn quickly to make use of our chances and find a way to hold on to the lead if we are the first to go ahead in a match.
"We are, however, doing quite well in terms of settling in the top tier, this being our first time, you know," said the ex-Gor Mahia and Kenya defender who shone in the '80s.
Barely 60 seconds into the match, Police were already celebrating a goal when an enticing Clifton Miheso cross from the left channel found Samuel Ndung'u strategically placed to fire home from close range.
Ibrahim Joshua then levelled terms for Brewers in the 5th minute before Shami Mwinyi's strike from the spot halfway through the first half separated the two sides at full-time.
A torrid start to the season had seen Tusker slump to the rump of the table. They crushed consecutively to AFC Leopards who edged them 1-0 at Thika Stadium in their season's opener before being stunned by newbies Talanta who beat the 2-1 in their own Ruaraka backyard.
