Former champions Ulinzi Warriors confront Equity Bank Dumas in a top-of-the-table Kenya National Basketball League clash at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Langata.

The soldiers who suffered a 69-58 defeat in the first leg are going for the bankers' throats. Coach Bernard Mufutu is well aware of why they lost and he is out to right the wrongs.

“We had a lot of defensive lapses due to lack of communication in that game. Help was coming in too late and we gave out a lot of second chances and got punished,” Mufutu noted.

He went on, “We have been working on various aspects on both ends of the floor in order to place ourselves in a good position to play better in this match.”

The bankers' tactician Carey Oketch remains upbeat about his chances, saying it’s a game of utmost importance that has a final bearing on the table.

“We really have to prepare mentally and physically for this game. We have been doing well except for a few injuries but we hope for the best.”

He added, “The ball can bounce any side but we hope to do our best and prepare the best way we can.”

Ulinzi are top of the table with 36 points from 20 games while Equity Bank are second with 34 points having played a game less.
