Ulinzi beat Lakeside to make semis

Ulinzi Warriors tactician William Balozi said his boys will have to control second balls better if they are to reach the finals.

“This is one area that is still wanting and we will also have to improve in our boxing out,” he observed.

Lakeside, who took Ulinzi to the wire in Kisumu, losing 80-78, trailed 46-23 at the break. Julius Okutoyi shot 17 and Evans Miheso 13.

In another top game, Thunder recovered from a loss in Eldoret to blow up Eldonets 82-50 and tie the best of five series 1-1.

The winners' coach, Collins Gaya, said the team played well and won easily but also missed many lay-ups in their efforts.

“Eldonets struggled to score as we did in our loss in Eldoret last week. After we broke off in the third, I replaced my starters,” he said. In other play off matches, Kenya College of Accountancy (KCA) University lost 38-32 to Strathmore University.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (Jkuat) hit Nebulus 100-52. Kenya Christian Industrial Training Institute (KCITI) lost 73-64 to Baobab.  And in a premier league ties,  Strathmore University beat United States International University  (USIU) 52-39.
