AK president Tuwei re-elected CAA vice president

The retired General who first came into office in 2019, will now serve his second tern for the next four years (2023-2027).

Athletics Kenya president Jackson Tuwei has been re-elected as the first vice president of the Confederation of African Athletics.

The retired General who first came into office in 2019, will now serve his second tern for the next four years (2023-2027).

CAA Congress was held in Lasaka, Zambia and was attended by the World Athletics president Sebastian Coe.

Cameroonian Hamad Kalkaba was also re-elected as the president of CAA while Senegal’s Lamine Fenty has been elected as the Director General of CAA.

"I would like to congratulate our president Lt Gen (Rtd) Jackson Tuwei following his re-election as the first vice president of the Confederation of African Athletics," Barbaba Korir, the youth development and athletics director said. 

He added: "His re-election recognises his leadership prowess and further cements Kenya's legacy as a towering athletics figure in the region. We wish him well as he extends his services beyond the borders of our country to the entire continent."
