Elisha Kiprop clinched his second ever StanChart Marathon title in three years as he clocked 2:11:07 to cut the tape at this year's edition of the annual road race.

Alfonce Kigen finished second in 2:11:11 ahead of third-placed Joshua Kogo (2:11:14) in a closely fought men's 42km race.

In the women's edition, Valentine Kipketer's monumental performance earned her a maiden marathon win in the StanChart Marathon.

She timed 2:30:01 ahead of Naomi Maiyo (2:32:22) and Beatrice Cheptoo (2:32:33).

In the men's half marathon, Vincent Ngetich edged a tightly contested race in 1:01:44 as Rhonzas Kilimo (1:01:56) and Peter Kipsirat (1:01:59) came second and third respectively.

Abigael Jelimo and Lilian Jebii finished second and third in 1:13:41 and 1:14:32 respectively.

The marathon was making a return after last year's edition was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
