Veteran rally navigator Job Njiru has tipped Kenya drivers to leave a mark at this year’s WRC Safari Rally set for March 28-31.

Njiru said Kenya’s entrants are a blend of youth and experience, which augurs well with Kenya’s ambitions for glory in the four-day championships.

Youngster Samman Vohra, paraplegic Nikhil Sachania and Africa Rally champion Karan Patel and veteran Safari driver Carl Tundo are among drivers Njiru expects to ruffle some feathers in Naivasha.

Vohra kicked his Kenya National Rally Championship campaign by winning the Eldoret Rally and Njiru believes this is inspiration enough for the upcoming driver.

“Samman Vohra is a youngster coming in and would be a good person to watch,” Njiru commented.

He said Tundo, Sachania and Patel’s experience and skills will be key for the host country.

Meanwhile, Njiru has tipped spectators on how to enjoy the Easter weekend.

“Go there early, at least three hours before the start, then you have the luxury of choosing a nice spot to sit, chill and enjoy the cars,” Njiru said.

He commended the organisers for creating a challenging yet breathtaking route, which showcases Kenya’s beautiful countryside.

“The course tailors itself, you go in and things just twist themselves,” Njiru said, adding that Lake Naivasha, Hells Gate, Soysambu, the Sleeping Warrior stage and Lake Elementaita offer stunning views for the fans.
