Champions KCB and General Service Unit have turned their focus to the Kenya Volleyball Federation league after a successful weekend at the Eldoret City International tournament.

KCB coach Japheth Munala said he is fixated on retaining the title they won last season.

“KCB is working hard, especially the technical bench, to ensure that we win every competition we play in," said Munala.

"My players, just like others, have to work extra hard to maintain our winning run and retain the national title."

Eldoret marked back-to-back victories for the bankers, who dominated the National Heroes tournament last month in Mosoriot.

“This is the second trophy this season and I am happy that my players played very well. We have to work hard to win as many titles as possible before the Africa Club Championships,” said Munala, who doubles up as the Malkia Strikers head coach.

Meanwhile, GSU coach Gideon Tarus was unimpressed despite winning the Eldoret contest.

“Even though we won the tournament, we did not play well. I hope we will play well next time. There are a few things I was supposed to have done but did not. I expect something better,” said Tarus, who is also the Walfame Stars coach.
