Kenya will send a team of 15 riders to the FIM Central Africa Motocross Challenge slated for  Busiika, Uganda on April 8-9.

Listed in the MX50 Class are the young-buddying quartet of Jamatia Kagongo, Berry Notea, Uhrie Yongo and Amani Amani who will all compete in KTM 50cc bikes.

MX65 has the likes of Liam Mbogo (KTM SX/65cc), Kigen Mutuma (KTM SX/65cc), Gisa Benzinge (KTM SX/65cc), Ethan Okello and Dylan Hatanga.

Making the team in MX85 are Atete Benzinge, Chemain Kangogo, Lewis Ogonyi and Wahome Mutahi. Alex Kandie and Githuku Mungai will be the team’s lone rangers in MX2 and MX1 categories respectively and will be hoping to ruffle a few feathers against their perennial Ugandan rivals.

Uganda won the opening round of the 2022 FIM regional series which was held over the Easter holidays at the Garuga racetrack in Entebbe.

But Kenyan riders are determined to avenge the defeat with much-needed gusto and adrenaline. The team will feature in five categories including MX50, MX65 and MX85, MX1 and MX2.

According to the event manager Peter Ndiwalana, the weekend race has attracted riders from Kenya, Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The event will rev-off on Saturday with practice sessions and Heat One with two final heats set for Sunday.

The CAC is supported by BAR Aviation, MAU, MOIL, and Mountain Dew. Apart from the main competition, the event will also feature several activities including zip lining, sky diving at the adventure park and flying revelers in a helicopter around Kampala.

The final round of the 2023 CAC will be a return leg of the two-round series in Kenya around December.
