Kenya Prisons coach Josp Barasa has said their 3-0 win over rivals KCB in a Kenya Volleyball Federation women's league match on Sunday was down to quick counter-attacks and a perfect game plan.

The wardresses, who surrendered the KVF league title to Kenya Pipeline in January, were in their element as sets of 25-19, 25-20, 25-21 powered the former champions to victory at the Nyayo Stadium gymnasium.

"We recovered many balls and countered perfectly on the break. We looked composed and bagging the first set obviously set the tone for the emphatic victory," Barasa said.

The gaffer warned their rivals to be prepared for a battle in their quest to reclaim the KVF title. Stakeholders raised eyebrows last season about Prisons' ability to produce better results after the team's insipid performances in a topsy-turvy season.

"We will deal with any team that we meet accordingly, " Barasa warned.

"Underrate us at your own peril. We mean business. The girls are psyched up and waiting for the third-leg fixtures. Mentally, the team is on another level and their physical condition is a notch higher."
