National Super League side Shabana has stepped up their pre-season training ahead of the league kick-off on November 26.

The club played two friendly matches over the weekend, losing 3-2 against former NSL side Kericho Zoo at Kericho Green Stadium and beat Central Rangers 3-0 at Machururiati playground in Nyamira County on Sunday.

Coach Sammy Okoth said: “I’m still recruiting players. I used the two friendly matches to assess the players who are currently training with us. We have not had enough pre-season due to financial constraints and uncertainties over the league kick-off.”

“If possible, we shall play two of three matches before the league kicks off.  We are assembling players we want to see in action before the league starts,” said the coach.

The tactician welcomed the announcement of league resumption, saying it’s a big relief for teams. “We can now prepare with a purpose. This is a huge relief as we all wanted the league to kick off,” he added.
