Debutants Kenya Ports Authority will look to build on their first 3-2 hard-fought win against APR of Rwanda at the African Club championship when they take on Tunisia's  Esperance on Monday.

Uganda's Nemostars survived Tanzania's MTC late comeback to win 3-2 in a pulsating Group 'C' encounter in the absence of their head coach Andrew Okapis who failed to travel due to financial reasons.

Nemostars won the first two sets 25-15, 25-22 but MTC recovered to win the third and fourth sets 25-21, 25-11 before losing the decisive set.

Nemostars finished sixth in the 2019 edition and have been East Africa's most consistent team at the continental showpiece, featuring in all the last five editions. Elsewhere in Pool C, Kelibia of Tunisia humbled minnows Wolaita Dicha of Ethiopia by the same scoreline.

The North Africans won spectacularly in sets of 25-15, 25-9, 25-15. Kelibia and Nemostars both on three points meet on Monday in their second matches that could decide on who finishes top of the group.

In pool B, Societe Omnisporte de I'armee SOA of Cote d' Ivoire lost 3-1 at the hands of Cameroon's Port Duala.
