The search for a striker capable of marching the standards set by ‘Golden Boot’ winner Masoud Juma continues to seemingly elude Kariobangi Sharks, forcing them to settle on a little known compromise in the shape of Musa Ekai from Nakuru Allstars.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of centre forward, Musa Ekai from Nakuru Allstars on a long term deal,” the club announced in a brief statement. Ekai expressed his delight in joining Sharks and has set his target in becoming a regular in the first team sooner rather than later.
“I’m pleased to get this opportunity. I’ve been training with the team for the past couple of weeks and to finally get a contract here is a great step in my career as I’ve always hoped to play top flight football though I never imagined the opportunity will come this early. Sharks are a good team; a dream team not only for me but for most upcoming players as they are one of the few teams that young players are given that rare opportunity to prove their worth.”
“I know there are a number of good strikers here and I will have to work even harder to earn a spot in the team. I’ve played alongside Sanneh (Ebrimma) during training sessions and he’s been such an inspiration to me. The coach has challenged me to try and fill Masoud’s shoes. I know it’s quite a huge task filling the void left by Masoud but one that I’m relishing to take in the next six months or a season later hopefully,” he said.
William Muluya’s men despite their impressive third place finish and several internationals like Patilla Omotto and Ovella Ochieng in their squad not to mention the deep pockets of club founder Nick Mwendwa, has struggled to attract the cream de la crème

of local football and have seen highly-rated players like Elly Asieche and Matthews Odongo among others leave the club.
Sharks will start their campaign with a tricky tie away at Nzoia United, the venue in which they earned their promotion to the top flight league 14 months ago.
