Battle of the Hills as Nairobi Region competition starts

Powerhouse Upper Hill come face-to-face with Brown Hill Academy in the under 16 football opener as the Nairobi Region Secondary Schools Sports Association competition get underway across various venues in the city today.
However, handball, netball, rugby sevens and athletics start on Friday through to Sunday at Lenana School.
Upper Hill and Brown Hill play at Aquinas Boys while Hospital Hill and Light Academy meet in the second Pool ‘C’ tie scheduled to be played at Upper Hill. In the first group, Kibra’s Raila Educational Centre vie for early points against Kahawa Garisson at Highway High as Kabiro competes against Kangemi Secondary at Lenana School.
Pool ‘B’ ties pit Aquinas against Mwangaza at Highway as Muhuri Muchiri battle Moi Forces Academy (MFA) at Starehe Boys Centre. Our Lady of Fatima have a test against Pumwani at Eastleigh High. Eastleigh High on the other hand have to trek to the neighbouring Starehe Boys Centre to encounter Ruai Boys in a Pool ‘D’ duel.
The last boys’ pool has former football big cheese Jamhuri High confronting Makongeni at Starehe Boys with Lang’ata-based Sunshine engaging Hidden Talent at Lenana School.
Girls’ holders Olympic Secondary will cross the city to start their title defence against Starehe Girls at Starehe Boys Centre, while Hidden Talent and Kenya High travel to Nairobi School for their Pool ‘A’ opener. The second group will see Buruburu Girls stand in the way of St. Justino’s quest for maximum points at Ofafa Jericho as Dandora meet Our Lady of Mercy (Shauri Moyo) at MFA.
Pool ‘C’ will have Embakasi Girls and Elite Visionary move to Sunshine Secondary for their opening fixture, while St. Joseph Technical settle scores with St. Mary’s at State House Girls.
In the penultimate group, Ruai Girls will have to deal with the hard-hitting Maina Wanjigi at Starehe Boys Centre, whereas Kariobangi North take on St. Teresa’s Eastleigh at MFA.
Pool ‘E’ has Pangani challenging St. Anne’s in a fixture to be staged at St. Teresa’s as Langata Barracks go against Dagoretti Mixed at Lenana School.
