Ulinzi Stars’ head coach Benjamin Nyangweso expects keeper Jacktone Odhiambo to be back for this weekend’s tie against Posta Rangers, having been stretchered off at the start of the second half in their win over Muhoroni Youth last Saturday.
Odhiambo, who played his first game of the season in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Thika and was between the sticks again in the midweek 1-0 win over Sofapaka in Machakos, has been away from the squad on several occasions due to the call of duty and Nyanwgeso was elated to have competition for places.
“It wasn’t such a major injury and we will assess him when we return to training. Hopefull,

he will be okay to get back to training,” the coach added.
Nyangweso at the same time believes the weekend’s 2-1 win over Muhoroni Youth is a huge morale booster to the team and has urged his charges to maintain the same momentum. The win via goals from Samuel Onyango and Boniface Onyango takes the army side to 21 points on the log, four behind leaders Gor Mahia.
“We played quite well in that match especially considering it was our third game within a week. We only lost out a bit late after Brian’s red card but overall, I was pleased with our performance,” Nyangweso said on the club’s website concerning the win.
This weekend’s game against Posta provides the soldiers with a chance to not only end the only unbeaten record in the league but also leapfrog Sammy Omollo’s charges as

title dark horse in the league table.
