63-year-old records management officer Shadrack Adede is Kenya’s
latest millionaire after bagging Sh 1million prize during Lotto’s second
Easter Power-draw.
The feat made Adede Lotto’s 148th millionaire and
the ninth Supa-Sunday winner. The Nairobi County resident, who
originally hails from Kisumu County, was ecstatic to learn of the
life-changing win. Adede said it was not necessarily the win he was
aiming for but the passion for the raffle as he regularly places a wager
at Lotto. He, however, concedes that in as much as he is elated at the
Sh 1 million fortune, his biggest dream lies on raking the Sh100m prize.
He added that the windfall has restored his faith on Lotto and will
enable him to complete constructing a residential rental building while
making a living as a records management officer. Having witnessed
several changes in the country, Adede is pleased at how Lotto has been
impacting lives of many and how it will now change his. Adede is has
been married for over 35 years to his wife Rosemary Odhiambo and the
couple have five adult children. Unfortunately, Adede was not able to
celebrate the win his wife as she is bed-ridden with a mental ailment
and has opted to use part of the fortune to cater for her medical care
as well as invest in farming and other opportunities. In the meantime,
Adede said he is not taking the win for granted and plans to keep
playing LOTTO with the Sh 100 million Jackpot remaining his ultimate
goal.
