Vihiga Deputy Governor Patrick Saisi's political fortunes seem to be dwindling after he failed to clinch the county's running mate position.
Governor Wilber Ottichilo has since picked Wilberforce Kitiezo as his running mate.
He has accused Ottichilo of using junior staff to frustrate him while in office.
Saisi's problems started back in 2018 when he alleged Ottichilo’s administration was plotting to assassinate him.
He reported the allegations at Kisumu Central police station.
However, Ottichilo said his deputy was being petty on some issues that were to be handled by junior staff in his office.
“When my DG says I am not furnishing his office or fuelling his cars, surely, he is not being is genuine. In fact, ever since I joined the office, I have been using what the former governor was using ,” Ottichilo said.
The governor was forced to pick a new deputy after a falling out with Saisi who had declared to vie for governor through The Equitable Party.
However, the Registrar of Political Parties locked out the party from presenting candidates in the August 9 general election, saying it was still very new.
All candidates who were in the party were allowed to vie as independents.
Saisi later decamped to Moses Akaranga's Progressive Party of Kenya to secure deputy governor position which he failed as Akaranga picked Paul Mbuni.
Mbuni was serving as the Lands and Urban Planning executive in Ottichilo’s administration before his exit.
