Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka has been cleared to vie for the Kisii senator seat under the ODM ticket.

He will battle it out with Richard Atemba of DP and ex-South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara who was cleared on Monday.

Magara and Onyonka promised fairness and integrity in the use of public funds if elected.

They were cleared by county returning officer Samuel Korir.

Magara was accompanied by Chris Obure, the Jubilee governor aspirant.

He is scrambling for the seat on the Jubilee Party ticket.

Obure lauded IEBC for being efficient and providing additional polling stations.

He urged voters to turn out in large numbers.

Onyonka said fighting corruption will be top of his priority.

He was Ford Kenya's deputy party boss before he decamped to ODM.

He said he will pressure Chris Obure to ensure no funds are misappropriated if elected.

“It won't be business as usual, our people will come first,” he said in Kisii.

In Nyaribari Chache, veteran Journalist, Eric Obino has also been cleared to vie for the MP seat currently held by Richard Tongi.

Obino was given his certificate on Tuesday at ATC Kisii by the constituency returning officer Mark Mango.

James Kenani of ODM and Tongi were also cleared.

Zaheer Jhanda (UDA) was cleared Sunday.

Kenani urged the government to ensure there are better gadgets for credible results saying Kenyans want an organised election.

“Faulty or constantly malfunctioning equipment cannot be trusted to offer the results they yearn,” he said.

Obino appealed to his rivals to conduct peaceful campaigns going forward.

He urged them to woo their voters with credible agenda without abusing others.

Obino asked voters to elect leaders on the development strength and agenda and not on the clan or size of the handout or propaganda being peddled by some people.

“Nyaribari Chache is currently faced with a litany of woes that need to be urgently addressed by new leadership,” he said.

Bichage Nyamaratandi was turned away the second time on Monday over anomalies in his submissions.
