Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Rigathi has vowed not to relent in the war against alcoholism, drugs and substance abuse across the country.

Speaking at a sensitisation forum in Rumuruti, Laikipia County, Pastor Dorcas said nothing will slow her quest to save Kenyans hooked on alcoholism.

Addressing religious leaders from the county, Dorcas said the clergy should be at the forefront in fighting the menace.

“Tell them (sellers of killer brews) to release our children. You must be able to speak up and start acting as the church. We must rise and save the boy child,” she said.

She said that those involved in the sale and distribution of killer brews must face the law as murderers.

“Our boy child will not be killed by anybody. We are going to protect our children, it is wrong, it is wicked that we will sit and watch people cook poison for our children," She said.

“What we want is for them to do other businesses that will not kill our children. A business that kills our people, is murder. And anyone who kills people is a murderer.”

On Monday, First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto termed the dedication and determination of Pastor Dorcas in fighting for the youth as inspiring.

Dorcas shared the agenda of her office with the clergy, urging them to support her quest to dignify the lives of the vulnerable population.

Office of the Second lady works under four pillars targeting the vulnerable populations; the boy child, widows and orphans, persons living with disabilities and chaplaincy and family values.

Area governor Joshua Irungu pledged to continue supporting Dorcas in the programmes.

On his part, Laikipia Senator John Kinyua thanked the second lady for identifying Laikipia as the place to establish a facility that will be used to rehabilitate and train youth who are on the reform journey.

Last year, the Dorcas led the groundbreaking of the facility in the Rumuruti area.

The facility will include a rehabilitation centre, a sports academy and a health centre.

The county leaders also led the congregation in prayers. Pastor Dorcas is on a 5-days working tour of Laikipia County where she is expected to address various vulnerable groups.

Present included County First Lady Grace Irungu, Deputy Governor Reuben Kamuri and Woman Rep Jane Kagiri among others
