President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are expected to start a three-day tour of Meru county.

The two will be hosted by Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza, Senator Kathuri Murungi and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, among other high-ranking government officials allied with UDA.

Today (Thursday), the UDA leaders are scheduled to launch development projects in Buuri, Tigania West and Tigania East.

An autopsy is set to be conducted on the head of murdered university student Rita Waeni Muendo.

The hunt for the killer is ongoing.

The Directorate of Criminal InvestigationsHomicide detectives have taken over the murder case of the 20-year-old whose dismembered body was discovered at an apartment in Roysambu.

The investigators have located the missing mobile phone of the victim.

Two Nigerian nationals, along with four Kenyans and an individual with a Mozambican passport are in custody in connection with the gruesome murder.

Raila in Kwale county for ODM recruitment drive

ODM leader Raila Odinga continues his tour of the Coast region to consolidate support for his party.

Raila is expected to visit Kwale today.

Kenya Defence Forces is set to host the 32d Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Ordinary Policy Organs Meeting in Nairobi.

As a premier organ that plays an important role in security and economic growth, EASF is keen on ensuring that diplomatic relations among the member states are cordial and functional.

The countries present for the five-day policy meeting are Burundi, Comoros, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda.

Ombudsman visits Moyale to promote access to justice

Commission on Administrative Justice visits Moyale to promote access to justice and good governance.

In collaboration with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), the Commission has organised a sensitization forum that brought together National and county government administrators as well as citizens and media practitioners in Moyale town.

The objective is to create awareness of the Commission mandate and bring commission services closer to rural border communities. 

Homa Bay gears up for upcoming investment conference

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga will officially launch the Homa Bay International Investment Conference registration and address the media at the Kempinski Hotel, Nairobi.

The investment conference will be held from February 27– 29, 2024 in Homa Bay under the theme “Unlocking the Bay of Endless Potential”.

The case involves the unauthorised release of oil by the Kenya Pipeline Company in 2008 without informing financiers.

Devani, who was a director of Triton Petroleum Limited is accused of engineering the release of the oil company's stock of fuel from KPC storage without informing the financiers.

Sh33m graft case against ex-road officials proceeds for hearing

The Sh33 million graft case facing ex-senior roads official proceeds for hearing today.

The case is against Mwangi Maina, former chief engineer of roads and Nicholas Ndung'u a former resident engineer.

They had been charged alongside former Transport CS Michael Kamau nine years ago but his case was withdrawn after the DPP said there was insufficient evidence to sustain his case.
