First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Thursday penned a heartwarming birthday message to his spouse President William Ruto.

The Head of State turns 57 years old today.

Referring to the President as her cherished friend and confidant, Mama Rachel noted that they are also celebrating their wedding anniversary.

"Happy Birthday, Bill, my cherished friend and confidant. On this momentous day, as we celebrate your birthday and our wedding anniversary, I am filled with gratitude," Mama Rachel said.

Reflecting on the journey they have shared, Mama Rachel said she is  reminded of a verse from the Bible;

"There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love."

"1 Corinthians 13:13 Kwa kweli mambo ni matatu Your love and support have been a true blessing. Thank you for being a constant source of joy and strength," the First Lady said.

The President and the First Lady got married in 1991 at the Africa Inland Church.

The two are blessed with six children, the most popular being their daughter Charlene Ruto.

The young couple first lived in Dagoretti, where they had their first child.

Ruto was born on December 21, 1966, in Sambut village, Kamagut,  Uasin Gishu County, to Daniel Cheruiyot and Sarah Cheruiyot.

The President is an evangelical Christian and a member of the Africa Inland Church.

He owns a considerable chicken farm in his home village of Sugoi, which was originally inspired by his stint as a chicken seller on the Nairobi-Eldoret-Malaba highway.

 Ruto and his wife built a chapel in their compound at their residence in the Karen suburb of Nairobi.
