Justus Wabuyabo confirmed as Nuclear Power and Energy Agency CEO

Wabuyabo has been the acting NuPEA CEO for the last six months before his confirmation.

Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir has confirmed Justus Wabuyabo as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA). 

Wabuyabo has been the acting NuPEA CEO for the last six months before his confirmation. 

"The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Petroleum Davis Chirchir, has today confirmed the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer for Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA). Chirchir has confirmed Justus Wabuyabo who has been acting as the CEO for NuPEA for the last 6 months," the letter read in part. 

Wabuyabo joined NuPEA in 2019 as a Director of Legal and Regulatory Services and Corporation Secretary.

He previously served as the General Manager of legal and Corporate Services at the National Water and Harvesting Authority.

He has taught law for several years at the Kenya School of Law and the Mount Kenya University.

Wabuyabo holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Moi University and a Master of International Law from the University of Nairobi.

He is an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 22 years of experience.

Wabuyabo is a Certified Public Secretary, Commissioner of Oaths, a Notary Public and an Accredited Governance Auditor.

He is a Member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), East African Law Society (EALS), Commonwealth Lawyers' Association (CLA) and the Institute of Certified Secretaries.
