The pre-trail of 15 police officers suspected to be involved in the abduction of two Indians and their taxi driver will today proceed at the Kahawa Law Courts.

They are facing 17 counts, including abduction with intent to kill, forgery of official documents, conspiracy to commit a felony, and subjecting the two Indians and their driver to cruel, inhumane, and degrading treatment.

They are suspected of having abducted Mohamed Kidwai and Zulfiqar Khan and their driver Nicodemus Mwania Mwange on July 23, 2022.

On Monday, a High Court in Kiambu stayed a ruling delivered on November 10, 2023, at Kahawa Law Courts, which had granted the 15 officers bond.

World Soil Day

Kenya will today join the other nations in marking this year's World Soil Day.

Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi will address a conference in Nairobi themed enhancing soil health for sustainable food systems.

The day is observed annually to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources.

Head of Public Service Felix Koskei and Principal Secretary Kipronoh Ronoh are also expected to attend.

AG Muturi to appear before MPs

Attorney General Justin Muturi is set to appear before the Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence, and Foreign Relations.

He will respond to questions regarding the Protocol to the Constitutive Act of the AU relating to the Pan-African Parliament.

The AU assembly adopted the protocol during its summit in 2014.
