Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Saturday disclosed that more than 10 million signatures have been collected since the exercise was rolled out on July 11.

Odinga said the signatures collected were enough.

"Vile mnavojuwa tumekuwa tukisanya sahihi kutoka kwa wananchi. Saa hii tumesanya tumeshafika milioni kumi na zaidi sasa imetosha gari na jua yale tutafanay na hizo sahihi," Odinga said.

This is translated to mean 'As you are aware we have been collecting signatures from Kenyans. Right now we have collected over 10 million signatures and that is enough, we know what we will do with those signatures'.

He added: “This time we will not tell Kenyans to go back to the streets. No. When they go back they will do so on other grounds I don’t want to disclose at this moment.”

On July 11, Odinga launched a public website for the collection of 10 million signatures.

The move is in a bid to get public support for their aggressive campaign against the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Addressing the press on Friday, Odinga claimed that President William Ruto has increased the government's public expenditure by Sh400 billion over the last year.

Raila who termed the Kenya Kwanza's leadership over the last 12 months as disastrous for the country, accused the government of unbridled spending and borrowing.

The opposition leader said that President Ruto was doing completely the opposite of the promises he made to the country during the campaign period.

Raila said that while Kenyans would have expected that Kenya Kwanza would cut down on expenditure and borrowing, the government has increased expenditure.
