Suspected thug lynched after killing Kisii teacher in botched burglary

The 24-year-old was stoned to death as he scaled the fence of the said teacher.

A suspected thug has been lynched after he allegedly stormed the homestead of a retired teacher in Nyacheki, Bobasi in Kisii and killed him in a suspected burglary on Friday.

The 24-year-old was stoned to death as he scaled the fence of the said teacher.

"Officers had since retrieved the two bodies from the scene," Nyamache OCPD Joseph Kipkulei.

"Investigations have started."

The officers had received the report of the incident from area assistant chief Evans Mogoma.

The suspected thug was seen raiding the homestead before he was lynched, the OCPD said.

He said the teacher was pushed against the wall by the thug to immobilize him.

Later, the suspect took a wire and tied him to the grass suffocating him to death.

He was however cornered and killed.

"We have removed the bodies to Nyamache as investigations continue," the police boss said

He appealed to the residents to refrain from lynching suspects.
