A carpenter died after he fell from the fourteenth floor under construction in Nairobi’s Parklands area.

The incident happened at Zamil Construction Limited along City Park Drive and involved Collins Kilonzi Muema.

Witnesses said he slipped and fell through a hollow opening of the building and died on the spot.

He landed on the ground floor dying on the spot, police said of the July 21 incident.

He was among workers at the site when the incident happened.

Such incidents have been on the rise at construction sites with many blaming lack of protection gear for the trend.

Most of the incidents are still under investigation by various agencies including the County Government and National Construction Authority.

Meanwhile, police are investigating an incident in which a 33-year-old woman died after being assaulted at her workplace.

The woman identified as Florence Atieno Adhiambo died in her house in Korogocho slums, Nairobi.

She had told her husband that she had been assaulted by two known assailants who are at large.

She was rushed to Selina Hospital within Kariobangi and later referred to Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital where she was admitted before her death.

An initial report of assault was not earlier made but police visited the scene and established that the deceased was assaulted at her workplace by her workmates and fell on a drainage trench where she sustained injuries at the back of her head.

In Mwiki, a man aged 37 died after a fight with another one.

The deceased Mwambua Mwachila died at the Kenyatta National Hospital following the incident in the area.

Police said the assailant is yet to be arrested.
