Airtel Money has partnered with Kenya Power to offer zero transaction charges on electricity bills payment for six months.
Through a statement, Airtel said the move is to cushion their customers during this tough economic times.
"This initiative will benefit both postpaid and prepaid Kenya Power customers for the next six months," Airtel Money Managing Director Anne Kinuthia- Otieno said.
She added that Airtel Money aims at pursuing more partnerships with strategic stakeholders to offer Kenyans pocket friendly mobile money services.
"We aim at offering a convenient mobile money service, which will create a favourable financial ecosystem for our customers," she said.
To purchase electricity through Airtel Money, customers are advised to pay by dialing USSD code *334#, selecting Airtel PayBill, and then choosing KPLC.
"Airtel Money assures customers that the subsequent fees will be affordable and in line with their commitment to providing highly cost-effective services."
