Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has gifted Mukurwe-ini Technical Training Institute students Sh500,000 for a party.
"President alisema nipange bash, sasa unajua mimi ni mtu wa kuajiriwa, sisi hatuna sauti, for the graduates nitawacha nusu millioni kwa mambo yenu mfurahie," he said.
(The President said you should have a party, you know I am an employee, I don't have a voice. For the graduates, I will leave Sh500,000 for the party so that you can be happy)
He spoke in Nyeri during a graduation ceremony at the Institution.
He also urged the graduates to stay away from drugs and use their time to do meaningful things like farming.
The DP urged the police to stay put in the fight against drugs.
"I request the police to protect our young generation from drugs and bad people," he said
Gachagua also gifted primary school children Sh100,000 for sodas and bread.
"Wale watoto wadogo wa primary pia ntapanga Sh100,00 ya soda na mkate," he said.
This is not the first time the DP has been generous to students.

The DP who had visited the school for an alumni meeting, gave the money for what he called a "midterm bash".
"Before I leave, isn't there a midterm coming up? I must organise a bash...For the boys I leave Sh500,000, for the teachers here I will give Sh200,000 and for the subordinate staff Sh100,000," he said.
