Youth Affairs, Arts, and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has urged all Kenyans to attend the fourth edition of Absa Kip Keino Classic Continental Gold Tour. 

Namwamba on Wednesday said the event will take place at Kasarani Stadium and it will be open to the public. 

"I want to use this opportunity to ask the people of Kenya, let us fill the stadium on May 13 this Saturday. The gates will be open from as early as 6 am. Let us come and cheer our athletes. It will be criminal if we don't fill that stadium," Namwamba said. 

He said there will be an elite gathering of up to 230 top athletes from across the world participating in the fourth edition of the  Kip Keino Classic.

The CS said the 230 athletes from across the globe will join Kenya's athletes at Kasarani this coming Saturday. 

"230 top athletes from across the world coming to mix it with our own. And you know what our own do to these people. So, come see our own literally lay to waste that impressive field," the CS said. 

Namwamba termed the Kip Keino Classic as a special event, adding that Kenya is honored to play host. 

The fourth edition of Absa Kip Keino Classic Continental Gold Tour has already received funding from the government up to the tune of Sh320 million. 

Among the top global athletes who will take part in the event is the sixth fastest woman in the world, Sha’Carri Richardson, who already jetted into the country on Monday.
