Charlene Ruto: It was my wish to work with youth, not my father's

President William Ruto's daughter Charlene Ruto has revealed that she had to ask her father to allow her work with the youth. 

In an undated video, Charlene said her father never asked her to do what she is doing right now, as she firmly and consistently convinced the President to allow her to do what she loves. 

"Nili-decide kujituma, I went and told him, Babaa, I am passionate about the young people in this country, allow me to work with them and support what they do," she narrated. 

Charlene further added by saying that the President gave her his blessings. 

"My work is to support what the young people are doing."

She urged the youth to work toward creating job opportunities and approaching the right people in various fields for prosperity. 

The President's daughter has been going around the country to launch several projects, to empower young people, and in a recent event, she distributed sanitary towels to school-going children. 

As of December 2022, Charlene had attended up to 40 local and International engagements, including eight meetings with governors and met five deputy governors.

She engaged with four speakers from different county assemblies.

Charlene has also met students in various schools and community leaders.

She however clarified that her office is not funded by tax-payer money.
