President William Ruto has yet again thrown a jab at opposition leader Raila Odinga over his demands leading to demos.

While addressing the residents of Kitutu Chache North, the President said Raila has no right to question him as he is only answerable to Kenyans.

"I am employed by Kenyans, I am only answerable to Kenyans, he has not employed me, Kenyans voted for me," he said.

He also urged Raila to stop the demos which are disturbing the peace of the country.

"We have started the works, he (Raila) is only here to disturb us, he is telling Kenyans to demonstrate, he should give me a chance to work for Kenyans, awache kunisumbua na mambo ya maandamano," he added.

The head of state also told Raila to face him and leave the citizens alone.

"I am the one who defeated you, if you have a problem, face me, I defeated him and it's not a secret, he should let the business people be," he said.

"Tuheshimiane my friend."

Ruto said the way to lower the cost of living in the country is not through demos, and putting sufurias on their head.

"The demonstrations won't lower the cost of living, kuvaa sufuria kwa kichwa haitafanya bei ya unga ipungue, I am ready to work with every leader t take our country forward," he added.

"Ifikie bwana Kitendawili."

Raila had last week planned to lead his supporters to the State House to present a petition to the President.

The ODM leader wants Ruto to re-introduce subsidies to lower the prices of commodities, including fuel, food, cooking gas and also the cost of education.
