Ruto: We'll build airport to serve Kisii, Nyamira residents

Said Kenya Airports Authority will visit the area to identify a suitable location

President William Ruto in his quest for developments around the country has promised to build an airport that will serve the people of Kisii and Nyamira. 

The President who is currently on a three-day visit to the South Nyanza region said the team from the Kenya Airports Authority will tour the areas and identify the best location for the construction.

"Tumekubaliana na viongozi jana, KAA na viongozi watakuja hapa, na watueekeze vyema, ndio tuhakikishe mtasafiri vizuri," he said. 

This is loosely translated to: We had a meeting with the local leaders and we agree that officials from KAA will visit the area and identify a suitable location for the airport so that the locals can travel with ease. 

He also announced that in partnership with the county government, his administration will work on an industrial park for the people of Kisii, to allow farmers to have a well-equipped market for their produce. 

"I have an agreement with your governor, I will contribute Sh100 million, and he will contribute the same amount so that we can come up with an industrial park for the people of Kisii," he said. 

The President added that his administration is keen on developments around the country and delivering its manifesto. 

"I am ready to work with all elected leaders in the country in matters of development, I was elected to deliver my mandate, and that is what I will do, I am employed by Kenyans," he added.
