The PPB's Head of Crime Investigations and Enforcement Unit Dennis Otieno said the store had a storage facility at the back where the goods were found, including government drugs.

“Investigations are ongoing to arrest the culprit,” PPB said in a statement.

This comes barely two weeks after three people were arrested in Nairobi on suspicion of alleged theft of medical supplies.

They were arrested by Nairobi City County Enforcement team for allegedly being in possession of health services commodities and supplies.

The three were operating a Toyota van full of stolen medicines that were recently flagged off by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Commenting on the matter, Sakaja said that Nairobians have suffered enough due to the lack of drugs, adding that anyone standing in the way of service delivery will be dealt with.

"I have deployed over 100 police officers in all county health facilities to ensure security is provided to not only the health facilities but also patients,” Sakaja said.
