On the radar: Pressure mounts on CoB boss Nyakang'o to resign

Key activities and events lined up for today.

In Summary
  • All eyes on ODM Leader Raila Odinga as mass action deadline elapses today.
  • Rally Driver Maxine Wahome to be charged with the murder of her late boyfriend Asad Khan.

Margaret Nyakang’o told a parliamentary committee that Yatani pressured her to approve payment of Sh15 billion for Telkom shares.

Yatani has denied any wrongdoing.

“We raised a lot of issues about the process, and documentation but they kept saying those issues will be addressed later because the money was urgently needed,” Nyakang’o told the Star.

Among other things, the Controller of Budget raised the alarm when she realised a new company had been introduced to receive money on behalf of Helios.

Raila Odinga Ultimatum

All eyes are on ODM Leader Raila Odinga as mass action deadline elapses on Wednesday.

Police have also laid roadblocks around the State House ahead of planned mass action.

Last month, Raila gave the government a 14-day mass action ultimatum if Jeevanjee's demands are not met, as the party seeks electoral justice.

"We came here as seekers of truth and defenders of justice. We are seekers and defenders of electoral justice, social and economic justice. We pray that this may be firmly planted in the soils of our country," he said.

Raila also demanded that President William Ruto's government lowers the price of basic commodities and taxes, in 14 days.

He said failure to do so, the Opposition will stage anti-government demonstrations.

CAS Jobs

Fingers crossed as Public Service Commission is expected to hand the final list of successful Chief Administrative Secretary applicants to President William Ruto.

On Tuesday, PSC  winded up interviews for Chief Administrative Secretary candidates after a five-day marathon.

PSC had in February shortlisted 224 candidates for the interviews.

Murder charges

Rally Driver Maxine Wahome is to be charged with the murder of her late boyfriend Asad Khan.

This comes after the court directed the DPP to file a report in court on whether they will charge her with murder or not.

The state has asked the court to close the file without any clarification on what to follow.
