Meru University graduation to proceed as planned - Machogu

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has assured students that the planned graduation slated for March 11 will proceed as planned.

This is despite the ouster of the Meru University Vice Chancellor over what the council termed as poor performance.

In a statement, Machogu said dismissing VC Romanus Odhiambo a few days before graduation had ill motives.

“The university’s 10th graduation that was planned to take place on March 11 will proceed as scheduled,” Machogu said.

The council said it was not convinced Odhiambo deserved a second term.

“The university council in its meeting held on February 27, 2023, evaluated your performance and found it to be below expectations. Therefore, the council declined to renew your contract as requested in your letter dated 20th December 2022,” chairman Bosire Mwebi said in a letter dated February 27, 2023.
