Former KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion has termed as “luck” his selection as one of the candidates for the Chief Administrative Secretary.
Speaking when he appeared for the interviews, the former nominated ODM MP said at no time has he ever been shortlisted or called to appear for an interview for a public office.
He did not, however, state whether he has submitted applications for other job opportunities in government before.
“This is the first interview of my life and I am happy I had a good engagement with the panellists. I have never been interviewed before,” he said.
Sossion has been a classroom teacher before rising to be a unionist until he resigned.
He also defended the creation of the office saying it will give meaning to the efficiency of leadership in the ministries.
“Creation of such an office is even too late in the day, it should have been a long time ago so that we can have effective ministries that can deliver with little supervision,” he said exuding confidence in being picked.
He added:
“After all the contestations and the rulings in various courts and the proper redesigning of these positions is a good thing to happen.”
A total of 144 candidates had been interviewed by Friday in an exercise that started Monday.
It is set to end on March 7.
Some 240 candidates, all battling it out for the 22 available slots were shortlisted.
