Kithure Kindiki best performing CS – Infotrack poll

He took over from Fred Matiang'i who was the CS under Uhuru Kenyatta's government.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has been ranked as the top best-performing Cabinet Secretary by the Infotrack survey.

The report was released on Tuesday.

The survey sample achieved was 2149 to represent the universe of adult Kenyans who were 18 years and above at the time of the survey.

The sampling frame was designed using Population Proportionate to size (PPS) guided by the 2019 Census.

The survey was conducted between February 21 to February 24 and the respondents were across eight regions across 47 counties.

Out of the sample size, the majority of them felt that Kindiki performed the best in the first 100 days in office.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu came second with 27 per cent followed by Sports and Culture counterpart Ababu Namwamba at 8 per cent.

President William Ruto appointed Kindiki as the CS, replacing Fred Matiang'i.

He also served as the President-elect's chief agent in the August 9 poll.

Before his nomination to the Interior Ministry, Kindiki had expressed his interest to run for the seat of governor in Tharaka Nithi.

But he later shelved his ambitions upon a request by Ruto to join his national campaigns.
